Andrew Farrier

Andrew Farrier is a tour guide and theater artist in New Orleans, Louisiana, who occasionally takes a break from oral storytelling to write something down. His play La Concierge Solitaire, co-written with Matthew Morris, was one of the New Orleans Times-Picayune‘s top five picks for the 2011 New Orleans Fringe Festival. Performance credits include The Big Short, American Horror Story: Freakshow, the title role in Hamlet with the Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, and many others. He is a proud honorary member of the Michigan Embalmers’ Society.

Ten Things I Can’t Do Without

  1. Rain
  2. A climbable tree nearby, preferably a live oak
  3. The Online Etymology Dictionary
  4. Either Project Gutenberg or Friends of the Library book sales, but preferably both
  5. Room to move
  6. Confidence that my handstand, split, and social skills will continue to improve
  7. Affirmation, particularly from a trusted few but sometimes from strangers (in word or hug form)
  8. An endeavor
  9. Word of others’ adventures and the option to follow their steps
  10. Ability to enjoy and not just metabolize the biological essentials (food, water, air, et al.)
