Linda McCune
Born in Dyersburg, TN, Linda McCune earned her B.F.A. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and her M.F.A. from the University of South Carolina at Columbia. Her sculptures and drawings have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the U.S. and around the world. Her work can be found in many public and private collections including the South Carolina State Art Collections, the Columbia Museum of Art, the Hunter Museum of American Art, and the Ashville Art Museum. She has been awarded numerous grants such as Elon College’s Grant for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities and South Carolina State’s Artist Fellowship Grant for Artistic Excellence. The South Carolina Arts Commission recognized her as one of the most influential artists of the last one hundred years in their 100 years/100 Artists: Views from the Edge of the 20th Century in South Carolina Art exhibition. She has also received recognition for her work as a teacher, winning the National NISOD Award for College Teaching Excellence. Linda resides in Greer, SC, where she teaches art history, fine arts, and art education at Greenville Technical College. She currently serves as the Academic Program Director of the Visual and Performing Arts Department.
