Allison Klein
Allison Klein grew up in New York City and attended Middlebury College in Vermont, from which she graduated with a joint major in Environmental Studies and Geology. The call of the Rockies drew her west, and she found herself in Yellowstone National Park where she lived and worked for seven years as a Cartographic Technician/Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst. She earned a graduate certificate in GIS from Pennsylvania State University while working in Yellowstone. Her work can be found in several publications including issues of Yellowstone Resources & Issues, Yellowstone Bison: Conserving an American Icon in Modern Society, and Yellowstone: Color It Wild, a coloring book for all ages inspired by Yellowstone.
Allison then transitioned to the private sector in Bozeman, Montana, and is currently dividing her time between Bozeman and McCall, Idaho. She has always been interested in projects involving the analysis of spatial data and translating the raw data into clear and innovative graphics that can be used to communicate with both technical and nontechnical audiences, and that passion has led her to the process of starting her own GIS/Cartography firm.
