John P. Dunn entered the world in Wiesbaden, then West Germany. He’s traveled to Europe, Africa, and Central Asia, but lived longest in his favorite town: Valdosta, GA. Currently a Professor of History at Valdosta State University, he offers courses dealing with the Middle East, Eastern Europe, China, and World Military History.

Your excellent book on the Kheidve’s Army has several citations refering tp David Essex Porter’s letters to his mother and “Friend,” but not where you found them.
