Kathy Pories

Kathy Pories, Executive Editor at Algonquin, has been with Algonquin for more than two decades. She has been lucky to work with a slew of writers, including Jill McCorkle, Thrity Umrigar, Lee Smith, Kaitlyn Greenidge, Lauren Grodstein, Jaquira Díaz, Robert Olmstead, Lisa Ko, Daniel Wallace, Gabriel Bump, Ayesha Rascoe, Michael Parker, Rebecca Lee, Bill Roorbach, Silas House, and Nayantara Roy. Her authors’ books have been finalists for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, the Kirkus Prize, the Carnegie Mellon Award the National Book Award, and winners of the Thomas Wolfe Award. For seventeen years, she worked alongside Barbara Kingsolver as a judge for and editor of the winners of the PEN/Bellwether Prize.
