Reem Ghunaim
Reem Ghunaim was born and raised in Tulkarem, Palestine. Her curiosity for other cultures and desire to explore the world led her from Palestine to North Carolina through a Rotary Peace Fellowship in 2012. She champions mutual understanding as a path to forging peace. She is currently the Executive Director of Rotarian Action Group For Peace, a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon, that supports Rotarians in their mission to Promote Peace. She received her B.A. in business administration from Birzeit University in Palestine. As a Duke UNC Rotary Peace Fellow, Reem obtained her master’s in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an International Peace and Conflict Resolution Certificate from Duke University. Reem is currently serving on the Rotary Club of Portland as the Co-chair of the Peacebuilder Committee and organizing the Environmental Sustainability and Peace Conference: one of Rotary International’s six Presidential Peace Conferences for 2018.
