Andrew Farrier
Andrew Farrier is a tour guide and theater artist in New Orleans, Louisiana, who occasionally takes a break from oral storytelling to write something down. His play La Concierge Solitaire, co-written with Matthew Morris, was one of the New Orleans Times-Picayune‘s top five picks for the 2011 New Orleans Fringe Festival. Performance credits include The Big Short, American Horror Story: Freakshow, the title role in Hamlet with the Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, and many others. He is a proud honorary member of the Michigan Embalmers’ Society.
Ten Things I Can’t Do Without
- Rain
- A climbable tree nearby, preferably a live oak
- The Online Etymology Dictionary
- Either Project Gutenberg or Friends of the Library book sales, but preferably both
- Room to move
- Confidence that my handstand, split, and social skills will continue to improve
- Affirmation, particularly from a trusted few but sometimes from strangers (in word or hug form)
- An endeavor
- Word of others’ adventures and the option to follow their steps
- Ability to enjoy and not just metabolize the biological essentials (food, water, air, et al.)
I am studying to be a good tour guide. Andrew is my role model .
Andrew I have not been in New Orleans since 1981 due family sever age. I am disabled and at the end of my life, you have provided me hours of dream retrospective that has afforded me memories of my growing up. I thank you deeply.
