Brendan Greaves
A folklorist and writer, Brendan Greaves founded Paradise of Bachelors in 2009 as a record label dedicated to documenting, curating, and releasing under-recognized musics of the American vernacular, with an emphasis on the South, broadly defined. From 2008 to 2012 Brendan served as Director of Public Art and Community Design at the North Carolina Arts Council, collaborating with artists, communities, and local governments statewide on public art, arts facility, cultural tourism, and arts-driven economic development projects. Before joining the Arts Council, he served as curator and gallerist at Philadelphia’s Fleisher/Ollman Gallery, where he co-curated eight exhibitions, inaugurated an annual invitational show for local emerging artists, and conducted sales with international institutions and private clients. Brendan graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 2000 with an A.B. in Visual and Environmental Studies; he also holds an M.A. in Folklore from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives and works in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The CD cover you did for Jake Xerxes Fussell is awesome! Would there be a way to get a copy of that picture? And, those inside? Beautiful work. Every time I play anything off of “What in the Natural World” on my radio show on KFOK Community Radio (Georgetown, CA), I gaze at your artwork. Lovely!
