Hannah Timmons

Hannah Timmons was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up on one of the main thoroughfares for Mardi Gras, and that spirit dances throughout her to this day. She headed to Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, for college and graduated from Bard with a BA in Filmmaking and Electronic Arts. After a wild–thankfully brief–stint in Los Angeles, Hannah decided to study acting at the Actor’s Studio Drama School in New York City. These were three intense and enlightening years. After graduating with her MFA, she proceeded to become a lifetime member of the Actor’s Studio and navigated the city streets with some skepticism, a bit of wonder, and anxiety. In the summer of 2013, chance would have her meet the love of her life on a small cruise across the great lakes. After some deliberation they decided to leave New York City (mostly because rats drove them out) and embark on new adventures. Hannah decided to dedicate herself to making a film about her family’s organic farm and former plantation, Inglewood, in Central Louisiana. They moved onto the farm for an incredible nine months. Well, the rest of this story is contained within the minutes of the film. Hannah is using live-action interviews, hand drawn animation, and the backdrop of an unexpected friendship to create the documentary she is still working on in her studio in Richmond, VA.

Ten Things I Can’t Do Without

  1. My family! (two and four legged)
  2. I can’t go too long without working on my art.
  3. Mardi Gras!
  4. Definitely sour gummies
  5. Yeah, martinis!
  6. A good soak in a hot bath with lots of Epsom salts
  7. Extremely embarrassed to admit this: watching golf on tv
  8. The feeling of returning to Alexandria, Louisiana
  9. Games–from sports to crossword puzzles
  10. Breathing. Can’t live without it, and yet I take it so much for granted.
