Tom Whitehead

Tom Whitehead earned an undergraduate degree in political science at Northwestern State University and a Master’s of Science degree from Boston University in Public Relations and Communications. In 1988 he was the local production consultant for filming Steel Magnolias. His academic career in teaching began in 1969 at Northwestern State, and lasted until he retired in 1999. Since then he has been a consultant on Special Projects to the president of Northwestern. He was a close friend of Clementine Hunter and has written and spoken extensively on the artist. He was coauthor of Clementine Hunter: Her Life and Art.
