Brian K. Fennessy

Brian K. Fennessy is a Ph.D. Candidate in United States history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A native of Cranston, Rhode Island, and an alumnus of Sewanee: The University of the South, Brian has both northern roots and southern ties. He is currently working on a dissertation titled, “Reconstructed Rebels,” about former Confederates who joined the Republican party during Congressional Reconstruction. He is also the creator of a blog titled Reunion: America’s Reconstruction at 150, which reflects on the sesquicentennial of this important period. You can follow it at reconstruction150.com.
